I was there on Monday night and the waitstaff there is already donning the new uniforms which include an apron with the Purple Rain logo (another part of the uniforms are stiletto healed boots - but that's a different story). I'd love to move to Dave & Busters. i get my ass handed to me on regular basis by those guys i mentioned (and like i said a few more). the other is league is play for cash basically so they are out for blood all out, all the time. like i said i am not woried about that part. i expect to struggle to hold my own but that is a big part of why i've gotten alot better over the last year and i feel masters league would be the same sort of fit for me. anyone at cues who accept me on a team already knows how i shoot because i play there already on sundays in 8 and 9 ball leagues. so they would know the risk vs. reward of adding me. i do appreciate your input and thank you for the info. hopefully i'll see you around some time and we can play a bit. i don't think i have had the pleasure of meeting you yet. if i have and don't remember or recognize your name i'm sorry. i'll be at the all star cups this weekend maybe see you there.

The major key to retaining vision during competition lies in tempo; usually mistakes are made in haste. It's when we start playing out of our natural tempo and begin to hurry that we neglect to see what's on the table. Often we are so pleased with an opponent's miss and eager to shoot that we simply fire in the shot in front of us only to face an impossible situation afterwards. In a game situation it is imperative when arriving at the table to take the time needed to assess the entire layout. Where are the problem balls? Can I run out? If not do I play a safety now or do I run a few balls and use that perfectly situated five ball for a devastating safety several shots from now? What is possible

Playing with vision allows us to perform. The best way to develop and nurture vision is to visualize. Visualize what will happen before taking a shot. Great players often turn the most dire situations around by replacing a fear of failure with a willingness to amaze.


Now I feel that he is talking about higher level players but it can also be for lower ranked players to. No matter what level you are you have to start some where and it requires vision. It is when the things that other higher ranked players have showed you and by practice and watching others play it finally clicks in. If can be just in looking at the table before you start to shoot to make sure that there is not a better option or calling for a time out to get wise instruction.

The idea is to open your mind to what others all ready know and figure a way to do it your self.

We just added a new player to our team that has never played on a pool league and everything that we say here is what he needs. I have spent many hours with him and have help[ed him stop popping up after his shot. He also swings his arms to help make his shot while he pops up. This was something that he did not realize that he was doing.

As we worked together he has reduce the amount of times he does it and has tried to start watching his approach to the cue ball and staying down on his shot. I can see a big improvement in his game and hope that he continues to practice this. I know that this will take time but it is fun to work with someone and see there game improve. The prelims will be held in mid-September (approximately) but you MUST register between April 1st and June 15th.
